When buying a car, what do I need to bring?

So you are thinking about buying a car? When finalising all the paperwork, what do you need with you when you get to the showroom? Here is what you need to bring with you.

Part Exchanges

Essentially, if the customer is part-exchanging their old car for a new one, the part-exchange vehicle V5 or logbook will be needed as well as the car’s service record. The customer will also need to bring in the spare key/s too.

Proof of Identity

The customer will need their driving licence in order for them to take a test drive of their car of choice. This will also be needed to arrange the customers finance options. A finance lender may require additional proof of ID such as a passport or utility bill.

In some circumstances, proof of employment/ income may be needed. This will be a wage slip or recent bank statements. The salesperson will inform the customer if this is needed.
